July 5th, 2010 -
Wrangler Horse and Pony Meeting
July 5, 2010 Electric hook-ups for the week of the fair will be $50.00. To be paid upon arriving at the barn. There will be on overnight stay. Failure to follow the rules could mean you loosing your 4-H year. Some of the stalls weren’t well taken care of last year. This year we have implemented a new way to help you remember to clean your stalls. If a Leader, Committee Member or Parent is Chaperoning, they may place a nice little card on your stall door, please don’t ignore this. It could also mean something else all together. We are still looking for proof of VX from several members. Remember you will need these to get into the barn. Parking: We will have several people in the parking area to help you park. We need to remember to leave enough room so the kids can tie their horses to the side of their trailer when saddling and getting ready to show. CHECK IN STARTS AT 3:00PM JULY 17. NO SOONER. THIS AREA WILL BE ROPED OFF UNTIL THE PARKERS GET THERE TO HELP PARK YOU WHERE YOU NEED TO BE. Also new for this year, when you get to the fairgrounds to check in, please leave your horse at the trailer and come on up with your book, the people checking you in will then look at your book and make sure all your projects are done, you need to do 3 of them per year, then they will stamp your hand and you may go back to your trailer to get your horse. Hopefully this will make the line move quicker with less waiting to get in the barn. Buckets: This year there will be no buckets or tubs on the floor of the stall or hung, unless they are the flat backed buckets. If you have any questions about this please see a leader or Committee Person. July 11, 2010 Tami Hochgesang and her family will be hosting a pool party at their house. All Wranglers and their families are invited. The party will begin anytime after 2pm and meal will be served at 5pm. All families are asked to bring their on drinks, a covered dish, and lawn chairs. Laura has: **ENVELOPES THAT HAVE A LETTER FROM THE EXTENSION OFFICE AND YOUR 4-H MEMBERSHIP CARD IN THEM. IT ALSO CONTAINS YOUR PROJECT LABELS. Your membership card will get you into the queens competition for free on Saturday July 10th. I will have them at the fairgrounds on Wed evening at 6:30 if you would like to come pick them up or we will have them at the meeting on Monday evening. If you need your card for Saturday please get a hold of me and I will see what we can do to get it to you. We are trying to fill the chaperone list. If you weren’t there to sign up and wish to help out at the barn let me know what you have available. THANKS FOR PITCHING IN!!!! We are asking each 4-H family to bring in a 24pk of water upon checking. The water will be kept in the cooler at the horse barn and given out to the kids thru the week of fair. This is in place of bringing drinks for the livestock dinner. Do not do any stall decorating until after our mandatory meeting on Friday July the 16th. We will be flooding the barn that week and don’t want anyone’s hard work to get ruined.Next Meeting will be July 12, we will cover English riding, and Keyhole race. Would be a good time to ask any questions you might have about the classes that are being offered.
Don’t forget to turn in your Class sign-ups at this meeting or give to Tami.
